It is the children who suffer the most if a parent develops cancer. Family life often changes completely as a consequence. The Cancer Society Rhineland-Palatinate in Kaiserslautern helps affected children and adolescents to better cope with the emotional stress resulting from a parent´s disease in their daily lives, providing counseling, adventure-based freetime activities or just helping them with their.homework.

One core offering is climbing as a group activity, which is fun for the children, boosts their self-confidence and develops their strengths. The groups bring together families with a common fate, enabling them to share experiences and give support to each other.
